Song 13: Angel's Carol - by John Rutter

    Information:

    This song is a medium quick and not too loud except in certain sections.
    It is divided into 5 main parts for each voice.

    Section 1: From the begiining to letter C on page 3. After a 2 bar piano introduction, the ladies sing the next 8 bars. Then the Tenors sing the following 8 bars. The Sopranos and Tenors then sing the next 9 bars. then everyone joins in harmony singing loud. Just before C the voices are again quiet.

    Section 2: This starts at C on page 3 till D on page 4. The ladies sing AH to long notes. The men sing the melody for 8 bars. Then the tenors sing the melody whitst the Bass sing under The Tenors. The ladies continue to sing ah mainly to long notes. This section varies in volume so look out for mp - mf - cres - dim.

S:A:T: B:


    Section 3: From letter D till F on page 6 where the key changes. The Sopranos sing the melody with the altos singing a lower part. The men sing long notes to AH. At letter E the men sing gloria then the ladies sing it. The men sing the melody for 3 bars. The music then changes key .

S:A:T: B:


    Section 4 begins at F and ends at G. The altos and men sing the melody for 4 bars with the sopranos starting a bar later with a higher version of the melody. They then continue singing the melody for a further 4 bars with the other parts singing in harmony. From bar 79 to G each part sings the melody at different times with the other parts singing a harmony. The whole of this section is fairly loud.

S:A:T: B:


    Section 5 - G to the end. This starts loud with each voice singing parts of the melody in turn until H. From H the gloria section is sung and then a similar part to the main melody gradually getting quieter. At bar 103 we slow down and then it gets softer and then slows down to the end.
