Information:

This is lively song slow and should be sung with enjoyment. Careful singing of the dynamics and words are important. It is divided into 5 sections.

1st Section. After a short piano introduction the ladies sing a short phrase and then the men repeat this phrase. The ladies then sing the phrase again with the men repeating it. The voices then sing a short phrase in harmony.This section is not too quick but it is loud and the last notes are held on.

Second Section: This begins on the second line of page 3. It starts with a short piano introduction which is much quicker than the first section. The ladies sing a short phrase the men then repeat it.This is then repeated with minor changes. The full choir then sing 6 bars in harmony to bar 27 on page 5.

Section 3: This is similar to section 2 and begins on bar 28 of page 5(2nd line). The ladies sing a phrase which is repeated by the men. This occurs 3 times to the end of the 2nd line of page 6. This bar ends the section with the voices singing 3 notes in harmony. The volume of this section is medium loud.

Section 4: This section is completely different. The Sopranos sing a 4 bar phrase 6 times quietly. After the sopranos have sung the phrase twice . The Altos then join in and sing a different 4 bar phrase 4 times. This is sung mf. The men then sing a different 4 bar phrase Twice at the same time as the other voices. This is sung loud. This section ends at the bottom of page 7. Make sure you turn over quickly to section 5.

S: A:Men:

Section 5: This begins on page 8 with a 6 bar phrase sung in harmony. The ladies and men then alternate to the bottom of page 10. This is sung fairly loud. The last 6 bars is similar to the end of section 1. It increases in volume to the end which is very loud. There is also a descant part which begins at bar 62 and ends at the bottom of page 10. loud0
