Song 11: Sing out the News

    Information:

    This song is bright and has a large amount of variety in volume which is very important.
    It is divided into 5 main parts for SATB. There are soloists singing certain sections.

    1st Section Page 2 to page 3 to Letter C. The first 8 bars are sung quietly by a soloist. Just before Letter A the Bass start singing with the Sopranos and Altos joining in at Letter A singing the melody. Just before Letter B the Tenors sing their part and at Letter B everyone joins in medium loud. The Sopranos sing the melody the other parts singing in Harmony.

    2nd Section: At Letter C the soloist sings 2 bars medium loud. Then all parts sing in harmony until Letter D at the Bottom of page 4. After the first 2 bars of the harmony the Soloist sings another 2 bars. After the next 2 bars of harmony the Soloist joins in singing another 2 bars. The final 6 bars of this Section are sung by the choir in harmony. Please note the 2 bars harmony at the top of page 4 are sung quietly and so are the 2 bars harmony at the beginning of line 2.

    3rd Section: This part is sung in harmony for 8 bars and is quiet. At the end of the top line on page 5 we then sing again from Letter D. This time it is loud and before the last bar on the top line of page 5 we jump to the 2nd line. The Soloist again sings 2 bars with the harmony parts singing quietly. After the soloist has finished their part the parts sing again medium loud. The Solo and parts alternate again to the last bar on page 5, From then to Letter F the parts sing in harmony.

    4th Section:This begins at Letter F with the Bass Part singing the melody for 8 bars to the bottom of page 6. The Bass sing the melody very loud with the other parts singing loud.

    5th Section:This begins at Letter G with the Soprano part mainly singing the melody (sometimes the Sopranos and Altos sing the melody. The other parts sing the harmony. The Soloist sings mainly Hallelujah above the melody. This continues to the end of the 2nd line on page 8. From Letter G the harmony parts are the same as Letter B. From Letter H the Harmony part is the same as Letter A. From Letter I we suddenly sing Loudly and the last 3 bars get louder to very loud.
    Please remember to look carefully for the variations in volume.
