Song 5 : Benedictus (Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord) - Song in Welsh and Latin by the Welsh Composer Robat Arwyn

    Information:

This Religious Song is moderately slow with feeling. It is sung by SATB and is divided into 4 sections. Please follow your music when you listen to the music.

Section 1 - beginning to bar 20. After a short piano introduction the Altos and Bass sing the main tune together. This is followed by the Sopranos and Tenors singing a similar tune with the original words repeated.

Alto and Bass followed by Sop+Ten:

Section 2 - Bar 20 to Bar 36 After the key change (bar 21) the Bass and Altos sing and then Sops and Tenors. They then alternate and sometimes they sing together.

Alto and Bass: Sops and Tenors:

Section 3 - Bar 36 to Bar 54 After the key change (bar 37)the Bass and Altos sing and then Sops and Tenors. The Altos and Bass sing together to bar 54 but not always the same notes. The Sops and Tenors also sing this section together but not always the same notes. Because of this I have separated them and recorded each voice by itself.

Sop: Alto:Ten:
Bass:
Section 4 - Bar 54 to the end. After the key change (bar 55)the Sopranos sing and then Tenors followed by the other parts. The last section is rather complex and care is needed with the timing. The song ends very quietly.. I have recorded each voice by itself.

Sop: Alto:Ten:
Bass:
