Song 5: - You Raise me up - Graham & Lovland - Arr. Roger Emerson

    Introduction:

    You have sung this one before so this should only need some revision. There is a piano introduction and you have to repeat the first two and a half pages. There is a lot of variety in the dynamics and if these are performed well then the sung will be a success. Be careful with the rhythms which sometimes quite difficult.

    After a piano introduction (10 bars) the sops and altos sing the melody (top line of words). Then the men sing the tune. The men continue singing the melody and the ladies join in. This is followed by everyone singing in harmony. At bar 19 the chorus in harmony and much louder.

    We continue to sing the chorus as far as the end of line 2. We then repeat from bar 5 (page 3). This time we sing the 2nd line of words (ie 2nd verse). At bar 19 we again sing the chorus until the end of bar 2 line 2 Page 5 when we jump to bottom line of the page and change key at bar 29 (very loud) Page 6 continues with chorus inthe new key. At bar 37 the chorus is repeated mainly in harmony.

    We continue with the chorus mainly in harmony. We the gradualy die down and reduce speed to the end. You will need to keep a careful eye on the conductor so everyone keeps to the speed and dynamics.
