Song 3: The Prayer

    Information:

    This song is fairly slow and has a fair amount of variety in volume.
    It is divided into 4 main sections mainly in 4 part harmony.

    1st Section Page 3 to the middle of page 5 (bar 22). After a 5 bar piano introduction the ladies sing the first 2 parts of the melody medium quiet followed by the men singing similar parts. At bar 13 the music is sung medium loud in harmony. At bar 18 the parts alternate medium quiet. At bar 02 - bar 22 it is sung in 4 part harmony.

    2nd Section: This begins at bar 22 (page 5) to bar 39 (page 7). It begins medium quiet with the ladies and singing alternate phrases. This gradualy becomes louder to mf at bar 39 (page 6). After bar 30 the men sing a phrase then the ladies sing a phrase. This gradually gets quieter. The last 3 bars are sung in full harmony.

    3rd Section: From Bar 39 (page 7) to the middle of page 8 (bar 48). This is the loudest section beginning medium loud and getting louder to the pause of page 8 where it is loud. It decreases in volume for a bar and a half and then increases and gets gradually sloer to the change of key at bar 49.

    4th Section:This begins just before the key change bar 48 to the end. It is sung loud and alternates short phrases men sing first followed by the ladies. There is a variety of dynamics. By bars 56 - 57 it has decreased to medium loud. At bar 61 it is medium quiet and from there it is sung in harmony. At bar 64 it increases in volume until it is loud at the pause mark bar 66. There is then aslight break before it is sung mp gradually getting slower and quieter to the end,
